Consumer Alert - Fraudulent check scam
‘Secret or mystery shopper’...
ROPAK is aware that counterfeit checks with the ROPAK name have been circulated illegally by unscrupulous individuals claiming they are for a ‘secret or mystery shopper’ program. While these checks appear to be issued by ROPAK, they are in fact fraudulent and worthless. ROPAK is a manufacturer of plastic packaging products and does not and has never offered payment or reimbursement for a mystery or secret shopper program.
ROPAK has been in contact with law enforcement authorities to assist in the pursuit of the individuals who are perpetrating this illegal activity.
If you are in receipt of any correspondence relating to a ‘secret or mystery shopper’ or similar type of program, we recommend that you file a complaint with Sandra L. Spector, Deputy Counsel, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, 1735 N. Lynn Street, Room 4039, Arlington, Virginia 22209-4039, USA or go online (http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov) for more information. Deputy Counsel Sandra Spector can be reached at 001 703 292 4041.
Again, please do not cash these checks - they are fraudulent and worthless, and may result in bank charges on your account if deposited.
