Helically wound tanks
LINPAC Allibert has been manufacturing superior quality helically wound plastic storage tanks for more than 40 years. These high density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) tanks are extruded in strip form in a unique process. Each wrap is overlaid on the previous one and fused together to form a seamless cylinder with distinctive bands on the outside and a smooth finish on the inside. The one-piece cylinder therefore has no vertical seams or welds, and is totally watertight.
Large helically wound plastic bulk storage tanks are manufactured individually to suit customer requirements. These tanks are already used to store more than 400 million litres of corrosive liquids – across many different industries and types of chemicals. These include: sodium hypochlorite, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, hydrochloric acid, aluminium sulphate, ferric chloride, ferric sulphate... not to mention water, detergents, dyes and bleaches, ciders, beers and wines.
As well as large tanks, the company also manufactures smaller mixing and process tanks and storage bunds using the same
helical winding process.
LINPAC Allibert helically wound mixing and process tanks (photo right) can be used in many ways – for example, as scrubbers for hydrochloric acid, heaters for caustic soda, or pressure relief vents for hydrogen peroxide. They are also used for neutralisation, precipitation, cyanide removal, flocculation, oxidation/reducing, mixing, chrome treatment, diluting, etc. Tanks are available with a range of tailored accessories, including mixers and baffles.
Polypropylene versions are designed for use at high temperatures (usually up to +90°C), but we can also design tanks for use at higher temperatures or in environments subject to sudden temperature changes. The use of food grade plastic ensures that tanks can be used in the preparation of liquids that require the strictest hygienic conditions.
Our sturdy helix-wound storage bunds (photo lower right) can be sited on simple flat concrete bases, potentially eliminating the need for civil engineering work. They are easily installed and readily re-sited with the minimum of cost – to accommodate changing plant designs or other needs. Bunds have excellent thermal insulation properties and do not require coating – making them virtually maintenance free.
LINPAC Allibert’s helix tanks and bunds are available in a wide range of capacities from 500 to 60,000 litres. They provide high levels of safety and conform to all relevant regulations – for total peace of mind.
