Innovative sustainable packaging solutions to be featured on 21st Century Business Television series

Boca Raton, FL (TBD) --- Multi-Media Productions (USA), Inc. is pleased to announce that Ropak Packaging will be featured on 21st Century Business. The leading rigid plastic packaging manufacturer will be among a small group of companies highlighted in one of Multi-Media Production’s 30-minute business programs covering new product development and sustainable manufacturing. The program is expected to air on cable networks, such as CNBC and Fox Business network, and other outlets in the Fall.

Since Ropak’s  introduction of the original all-plastic shipping container to replace the metal can in the USA in 1968, the company has demonstrated its design and engineering strengths through a number of key industry firsts.

Ropak now continues its market and innovation leadership with the launch of the latest patent-pending and award-winning Diamond Weave Technology™ line of containers. As the name suggests, Diamond Weave Technology involves using a diamond-shaped lattice pattern on the internal surface of the plastic container to add structural strength to the container’s wall. Coupled with the use of polypropylene resin, this allows for significant source reduction, while retaining the same stack strength, functionality and billboard area as a regular plastic container. The innovative new containers also offer significantly improved Walmart Scorecard results.

This new approach to packaging design and construction means that rigid plastic containers used in industries as diverse as retail, food service and construction can now be more environmentally friendly. Apart from their lighter weight, which means lower fuel use during transport, the containers also contain substantially less source material, so less fossil fuel is required in the manufacturing process – together resulting in a significant reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, a major contributor to global warming.

Ropak’s Diamond Weave Technology containers are also offered in square and rectangular shapes that are more space-efficient, so more containers can be loaded on to a truck resulting in fewer trucks being required to transport both empty and filled containers, and leading to further reductions in GHG emissions.

Ropak’s Diamond Weave Technology containers are available in a variety of shapes – round, square and rectangular – as well as a range of sizes, from 0.6-gallons to 5.3-gallons. Millions of containers have already been sold in a variety of markets, covering both food and non-food applications.

JL Haber, Vice President of Programming at Multi Media Productions, said: “As an industry leader and innovator, Ropak Packaging was a natural to appear on our show. We will be looking at the company’s approach to new product development, along with how it has succeeded in maintaining its strong market position and quest for continuous innovation across more than four decades.”
