LINPAC’s new tomato tray range has good design principles at heart
LINPAC Packaging has launched a new range of trays for tomatoes, featuring an improved design to satisfy consumer demand for packaging that offers better product presentation.
Retailers are finding that packaging with modern, clean lines improves the way fresh produce is displayed – leading to increased sales.
When buying tomatoes, consumers want the fruit to look fresh and taste as good at home as it does in the store. They also want to be sure their purchases are protected on the journey home.
LINPAC Packaging’s new range of tomato trays has been developed in response to the growing demand from packers and retailers for designs that incorporate recycled content, along with better presentation.
Retailers and consumers benefit from excellent product visibility. The trays are suitable for flow-wrapping and are available in a variety of colours that can be matched to existing product colour-coding,
The tomato trays can be manufactured in HIPS (high impact polystyrene) with rPET (recycled PET) or other recycled content, and come in a range of sizes suitable for standard, vine, plum and baby plum tomatoes, in various counts.
Fabio Zoboli, LINPAC Packaging’s European Sales Manager for Fruit and Produce, says: “There is an increasing demand from consumers and retailers for packaging with recycled content, and this new range of trays for tomatoes goes one step further. The lightweight design not only looks good on the shelf, but retains its strength despite using the minimum amount of polymer.
“We have developed the range of tomato trays by working closely with customers to create a product that will appeal to consumers. They are an excellent design – yet are competitively priced – so we are expecting strong demand, particularly for the rPET version.”
