About LINPAC Ropak

Our founders were among those who established the rigid plastic container industry

Moulding plastic buckets at LINPAC RopakLINPAC Ropak specializes in the manufacture and marketing of rigid plastic shipping containers in North America, and serves a variety of markets from consumer food to construction and dairy to fishing.  We brought the industry’s first all-plastic shipping pail to market in 1968.

Since then we have applied our expertise to improving the design and manufacture of rigid plastic containers for a variety of industrial and consumer applications – by adding user-friendly features and incorporating lean manufacturing practices.  Today we are the largest manufacturer of such products in North America.

LINPAC Ropak’s key strengths are innovation in packaging design, rapid new product development for custom containers (using sophisticated prototyping systems), high quality products, world-class graphics and excellent customer service.  Like other LINPAC divisions, we are also committed to the concept of lean production, focusing on eliminating waste, reducing variability in manufacturing, and continuously improving.  Our commitment is to challenge the status quo, develop innovative new products and optimize manufacturing efficiencies – so we can serve our customers better in a highly competitive marketplace.

Our state-of-the-art graphics ensure customers get great brand presence on the store shelf.  We have garnered prestigious awards for the attractive in-mold labelling (IML) of our containers, including the Ameristar Packaging Award (above left), the IMDA Award, and the Best of Show and Gold Awards from Canada's National Packaging Competition (below left).  Attractive yet functional, our containers have the performance required to withstand the rigors of the world’s most demanding industrial and consumer markets, while our production facilities are second to none.

We are also in the vanguard of reducing the environmental impact of plastic shipping containers, through developing innovative designs that reduce weight without compromising quality or strength.  Our products are designed to be recyclable and reusable when empty.

LINPAC Ropak clean room manufacturing operationsWith more than 35 different models of round containers, plus a huge variety of square and rectangular packaging solutions, there is an off-the-shelf LINPAC Ropak container to meet virtually every customer requirement.  However, we also design and manufacture advanced new packaging solutions to meet specific customer requirements and changing market demands.

As well as containers, LINPAC Ropak produces many other rigid plastic packaging and related products, including barrels, totes, baskets, pans – even floats for the fishing market.  Manufactured from durable, food-grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE), our products meet both FDA and HPB specifications, and have many advantages over products manufactured from more traditional materials.

Our quality certifications and accreditation include ISO 9001:2000, HAACP, IMS and AIB – guaranteeing our ability to meet the most stringent packaging requirements.

In addition, we operate a major plastic recycling facility at our Nova Scotia, Canada plant, where we also blend and reuse the recycled material to manufacture new products.

After more than 40 years, LINPAC Ropak continues to set the pace in the plastic packaging sector for customer satisfaction, innovation and employee development.
