History
LINPAC was founded in 1959 as Lincolnshire Packaging, producing paper packaging for local fresh food producers. Now, in 2007, we have become a global, £1.1 billion packaging and materials handling supplier serving customers from a variety of markets across the world. Here are some of our greatest achievements and milestones over the last 50 years:
- 1959
- Lincolnshire Packaging was established
- 1969
- LINPAC Plastics was founded producing plastic food packaging
- 1975
- Began manufacture of burger packaging for McDonald's UK
- 1976
- Established LINPAC Plastics in France producing EPS trays & films
- 1983
- Formed LINPAC Mouldings after acquiring Guinness' plastics business
- Set up LINPAC Rotational Mouldings in Birmingham and Corsham
- 1991
- Opened LINPAC Plastics Recycling Plant for sorting, cleaning and re-extrusion of waste plastics
- 1992
- Founded Atlantic Formings in Capetown, South Africa
- 1994
- Formed LINPAC Environmental
- 1995
- Bought Ropak Packaging in North America
- 1996
- Established Logtek, providing asset management and logistics support services
- 1999
- Purchased Filmco USA & UK
- 2001
- Acquired 100% stake in Viscount Plastics in Australia extending our reach across Asia Pacific
- 2002
- Acquired Paxton Holdings Ltd and merged with LINPAC Materials Handling (LMH) Europe
- 2003
- Acquired Intellident adding RFID solutions to our list of services
- 2004
- Acquired Infia which became part of the LINPAC Plastics Division
- Bill Forrester joins as Chairman
- 2005
- Sold LINPAC Automotive Ltd
- Mike Arrowsmith appointed as Group CEO
- Formation of the LINPAC Industrial Division bringing together the combined skills of Environmental, Storage Systems & Metal Packaging
- LMH Europe and LMH NAFTA combine to create one LINPAC Materials Handling Division
- 2006
- Sold LINPAC Inc., our North American paper business
- Acquired Allibert Buckhorn, a French materials handling business
- Sold LMH North America to Orbis
- 2007
- Expansion of Viscount into China
- LINPAC Materials Handling rebrands as LINPAC Allibert incorporating the supply chain services of Logtek and Intellident into this newly created Division.
